Helen Hastings (they/them) is a New York City–based ceramic artist working through a handbuilt process, shaping every form directly by touch. Their vessels move between sculpture and function, resisting strict categories and allowing form to unfold on its own terms — a way of working that echoes their own relationship to fluidity, identity, and space. Building each piece intuitively, they embrace abstract shapes that emerge from the moment. The work centers movement, organic form, and the quiet rhythms of nature. Instead of control, they're drawn to multiplicity, fluctuation, and flow.
